How we stay independent.
SINK is paid by the people who use the data, never by companies for anything about their own score.
No company can pay for its own score, to be scored faster, to have evidence accepted, or to change what appears on its page.
A score is only worth something if nobody can buy it. These are the rules we keep.
1.Companies can't pay for anything about their own score.
We sell nothing to a company about its own score. We don't sell help to improve a score. We sell only to people who use our data. Today that's one thing: Supplier check, which buyers pay for to check their suppliers.
A Supplier check never changes a supplier's public score, and never gets one published faster. Every company is scored by the same method and the same process, and a score can go down as well as up, whoever the company is.
2.Anyone can send us new evidence, free.
If it holds up, the score changes, up or down, and the change is logged on the company's page with the reason.
It has to be something we can link to, such as a report, a web page or a filing. Every score shows its sources, so we can only use evidence that anyone can check. If you have evidence that isn't published, publish it, on your own website for example, and send us the link.
How to send it: open the company's page, find the question it's about and press Challenge this question. Or email hello@sinkproject.com with the company and the link.
3.We never cite our own website.
We don't write plans, reports or evidence for the companies we score. A score rests on what a company and others publish, and nothing on sinkproject.com is ever cited as a source for it.
4.Anyone can challenge any score, free.
Every question on every company page has a Challenge button. We reply within 5 working days. Challenges are public. When we decide one, the company's page shows what was challenged, what we decided, why and when, whichever way it goes.
The full rules are in the methodology, and every change to them is in the changelog.
