Canal+ is a French pay-TV and content group based in Issy-les-Moulineaux, near Paris: it sells TV subscriptions in Europe, Africa and Asia, owns the film and TV studio STUDIOCANAL and the news channel CNews, and took over South Africa's MultiChoice in 2025. Canal+ SA was registered in France in 2018 and has been listed in London since December 2024; its roots go back to 1984 (Société d'Édition de Canal Plus, 329 211 734).
It had about 15,000 employees and €6.95 billion revenue in 2025.

Canal+ reports 697,020 tCO2e for 2025, but it counts none of the content, sports rights and services it buys, and MultiChoice's supply chain is not measured, so the size deduction for an incomplete footprint (0.70x) applies. It says 78% of its electricity is renewable without saying how, and MultiChoice, which relies on coal-fired grid power, is left out. It has no quantified climate target and buys offsets. France's broadcasting regulator fined its news channel CNews for unchallenged climate-science denial, a decision upheld in 2025. Its set-top boxes use recycled plastic and many are refurbished.
