Our verdict

lululemon's footprint was 1,613,025 tCO2e in 2024, nearly all of it in its supply chain, and its Scope 3 has roughly doubled since 2020. It matched 100% of electricity in its own operations with renewables in 2024, largely through certificates outside North America, while its suppliers' factories still run mainly on fossil power. The SBTi has validated its targets, but the Scope 3 target, covering 99% of its footprint, is per dollar of gross profit, not absolute. In 2024 Stand.earth filed greenwashing complaints over its 'Be Planet' claims; Canada's Competition Bureau closed its investigation after lululemon removed the green messaging, with no upheld finding.

lululemon athletica scores 36/100 (Below expectations) on SINK's independent climate assessment, scored from public data only. Scores are free. Companies can never pay for anything about their own score. Last verified November 2026.

That places lululemon athletica joint 530th of 969 companies scored, and joint 39th of 55 in Apparel (Durable / Outdoor).
